Adrienne Berard
About
Adrienne Berard is a former journalist with a passion for explaining the significance of research to the public. She began her career as a beat reporter for her hometown paper in Northampton, Mass., and went on to work in magazines, television and digital media. Her first full-length book “Water Tossing Boulders: How a Family of Chinese Immigrants Led the First Fight to Desegregate Schools in the Jim Crow South” was published in 2016 and won the J. Anthony Lukas "Work in Progress" Award for narrative journalism. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and has served as the Writer-in-Residence at Delta State University in Mississippi. She and her family manage a 15-acre sheep farm in King & Queen county.
